A thoroughly enjoyable look back at how things used to be. This series of short films depicts what it meant to be a climber in the 80’s. From Ben and Jerry clipping bolts to Paul Pritchard and Johnny Dawes on sighting scary Gogarth death routes, these films give an inspiring insight into the era when the first really hard rock routes came into existence. The films also depict other aspects of climbing culture in the 80’s, be that madcap stunts in the welsh slate quarries or the thoughtful reflections of Jim Perrin on the solo climber. For me the footage of Ben, Jerry and Johnny enjoying a sunny Bouox really makes this film. Inspiring stuff. Will
