The Petzl Ascension is rapidly becoming the handled ascender of choice.

The strong frame is well shaped to support your hands and the different colours make wrong handed fumbles less likely. The ergonomic notched spring-loaded nylon catch allows the cam to be held in the open position for easy one handed installation onto, or removal from the rope

Pairs of holes at top and bottom allow simple rigging with footloops and lanyards or fixing into sometimes not so simple hauling rigs.

The Petzl Ascension has been used by Foundry staff in the Alps, on Yosemite and Norwegian big walls, for route setting and photography.
