The original and best self-locking belay device from Petzl.

The Grigri is the belay device of choice for sport climbing and big walls where long spells of belaying may be required. For use only with single ropes.
Suitable for use with 10-12mm ropes. We recommend the use of a Freino karabiner, to provide extra friction when lowering.

Although it takes much of the work out of holding a fall, the Grigri requires very careful handling and is not recommend for novice belayers.
